YU Taekwondo Global Association

The YU Taekwondo Global Association is an internationally active, non-profit umbrella organization headquartered in Vienna, Austria. The Association serves to safeguard, coordinate, and further develop the YU Taekwondo system at a global level.

Primary Objective

To ensure uniform technical, educational, and ethical standards for the practice, instruction, and organizational development of YU Taekwondo, while coordinating national structures within this framework.

The Association operates on a non-commercial, politically independent, and non-governmental basis.

Standardization

Establishing and maintaining internationally valid training, examination, and grading standards.

Federation Oversight

Recognizing and coordinating national YU Taekwondo federations.

Quality Control

Dedicated to maintaining curricular consistency and upholding rigorous quality benchmarks under the leadership of Founder and President Dr. Andreas Held.

Values & Ethics

Promoting ethical, sporting, and pedagogical principles within Taekwondo.

Development

Supporting educational, youth, and personal development initiatives through sport.

Structure and Organization

  • Operational Model: Functions as an international umbrella organization. National federations operate under its guidance as independent legal entities.

  • Management: Strategic leadership is carried out by governing bodies according to statutes, prioritizing the technical integrity and identity of the YU Taekwondo system.

The Association’s sphere of activity is global. National federations are recognized based on specific standards and are responsible for local implementation. The Global Association serves as the unifying authority, ensuring coherent, transparent, and sustainable development worldwide.
